Review of the VR3 VRHDUA100 HD Radio converter / adapter

This converter is a HD Radio tuner module that comes with a dashboard mount controller unit. It is a universal unit that will work for all existing car stereos, so it will provide all existing analog car radios with free HD digital radio signal.

Pros: Easy and quick to install. The radio provides a very clear signal and it does a decent job of locking onto the HD Radio signal. Very good AM reception and quality. Decent tuner selectivity.

Cons: No control to set the brightness or contrast, which can make the screen hard to see in bright daylight or nighttime.

The display is backlit, has multiple lines that will display the song name, artists name, and even traffic reports. The display is easy to read in normal conditions and is very functional, but there are not controls to adjust the lighting so brightness or night impact the display.
