Accurian Tabletop HD Radio Review
Some of the pros, cons, as well as comments on the Accurian Tabletop HD Radio. This information is consolidated from various HD Radio reviews.
Pros: AM radio in HD sounds just as good as regular FM on this radio.
Cons: Any ultra critical listeners may pick up a very slight harshness on the high end.
Finished in black metal and stainless steel, the Accurian Tabletop HD Radio puts out a quality, well-balanced sound (as long as you don't pump up the volume too loud), and looks good.
Scanning up or down the dial on this tabletop unit, the radio will lock first onto the standard AM or FM analog signal. If there is an adjacent digital signal, the HD receiver will automatically switch to it about five seconds later. This will provide a startling improvement in warmth and clarity, and will also eliminate the hiss often heard on conventional radio.
The Accurian does a very good job of splitting the beam on multicasting stations and bringing in these extra stations.
