HD Radio Awareness Improves
Mark Kassof & Co. completed a survey of almost 700 consumers between September 4-7, 2008 and found out some good news about HD Radio, but some bad news was also discovered.
Lets Review The Good News: * Over 65% of 18-64 year olds have now heard of HD Digital Radio. That is up from about 40% in 2006. * Over 20% of radio listeners understand the idea that HD Radio does provide a higher quality of audio. Two years ago a mere 1% understood that.
Lets Review The Not So Good News: * About 7% of the consumers out there think HD Radio is Satellite Radio. Small, but not insignificant. * 3% think they are already receiving HD Radio signals- although they have not actually purchased an HD-capable radio.
According to the survey results, the HD Radio industry still has a lot of work to do explaining their product and selling digital radio benefits to consumers. More on consumer reports and HD Radio.
